Arval UK raises money for Diabetes UK this World EV Day

Rich Smith

For this World EV DayTM, Arval UK are raising money for Diabetes UK, embarking on a cycle ride from Arval HQ in Houten, Holland to Swindon and their UK office.

The 12 riders who will be completing the 386 mile journey will be supported by Arval UK consultant, Ben Edwards, a type-1 diabetic himself, who will be driving the support vehicle for the trip.

It wouldn’t be an World EV DayTM activation without a form of emobility somewhere, and for this challenge, it comes in the form of a their support vehicle with Ben driving a Genesis GV70 throughout the trip. With the riders starting from Holland, the Genesis GV70 will in fact be completing nearly 800 miles across the 4-day challenge.

To discover a little more about Ben’s experience, not only as a diabetic and the challenges he may face compared to others when travelling long distances, Ben is also keeping his LinkedIn network up to date with a detailed account of the Genesis’s performance and the charging infrastructure in the 4 countries the trip is taking in.

The challenge is raising money for Diabetes UK, an incredible charity who are striving to fund a cure for diabetes and to better the lives of the nearly 5 million people who are knowingly living with the condition.

If you’d like to donate, click here and you will be taken directly to Arval UK’s JustGiving page.

Good luck to all the riders and Ben who are using this World EV DayTM to not only promote a transition to emobility but also by fundraising for a truly wonderful cause!
